OUR MAN IN THE FIELD
Our Man In The Field is UK singer-songwriter Alex Ellis, with assistance from a band that includes Henry Senior (pedal steel, dobro), Greg Bishop (drums, harmonies), Raul Biancardi (synth) and Luke Ydstie (bass) and together they play an intoxicating mixture of soulful indie-folk and americana with nods to the likes of Ray LaMontagne, Damien Rice, Wilco, Ryan Adams and Lambchop.
Our Man In The Field released their debut album, Company Of Strangers, in 2020 and immediately started to gain a loyal and dedicated fanbase. Tours, festival dates and a support tour with The Delines immediately followed.
In late 2023 Our Man In The Field released their sophomore album, On The Horizon, to universal acclaim with Americana Highway stating "The level of sensitivity laced into the music and the lyrics of Alex Ellis are nothing short of wondrous. Albums like this come along every decade or so and really do offer stepping stones to sanity." Produced and mixed by Tucker Martine (Modest Mouse, Rosanne Cash, Case/Lang/Veirs), and recorded in Portland, Oregon, the album is a 12-song collection of life observations and the urge to explore their universal meanings through Ellis’s fly-on-the-wall, tuneful alter-persona.
